Along the way, you will also encounter the Witwenbrunnen, a spring whose name comes from an old legend:
The Telfes miners earned well in the mine and became overconfident. They skinned an ox alive and roasted it on a spit. As punishment for this act, God caused the tunnel to collapse on the miners. A farmer saw this and went to meet the miners' wives, who climbed daily to the tunnel to bring food to their husbands. On the way, they rested at a spring. The farmer met them there and told them what had happened. Since then, this spring has been called the Widows' Spring.
