Mining at remote high-altitude sites would have been unimaginable without the support from the valley below. In this video, you will find out how farmers worked as traders (known as “Samer”) and carters, transporting ore, raw materials, fuel and food over long distances — regardless of the weather, in sunshine or snow, summer and winter alike.
