Telfes Miners’ World

Themed Trail

The Miner’s Path in Telfes runs through a former mining area on the Ochsenberg and brings the history of historic ore mining in the region to life. As early as the late 15th and early 16th centuries, silver-bearing galena was extracted here, mainly used for silver production in North Tyrol.

Along the themed trail, nine information boards located at original sites provide insights into mining activities, the work of the miners, and the importance of the mining district around the Telfer Weißen peaks. The trail is accompanied by impressive views of the surrounding mountain landscape. Rest areas and three alpine huts along the route invite visitors to take a break and stop for refreshments.

QR codes at each station provide access to additional videos that explain and expand on the topics in an engaging way. The following video offers a first overview of the Miner’s Path and gives an impression of the content that can be discovered along the other stations.

The Miner’s Path can be hiked in three different route options, offering varying levels of difficulty and allowing the tour to be adapted to individual needs.
