Experience Nature Step by Step

The approximately 250-metre-long Barefoot Trail in Innerratschings invites visitors to experience nature with all their senses. A variety of natural surfaces, including pine cones, wood, stone, gravel, sand and wood chips, make every step a unique experience for children and adults alike.

Kneipp treatments should only be carried out when the body is warm. If you experience intense cold or feel unwell, stop the treatment immediately. After the application, remove the water from your skin, allow it to air dry and warm your body again through movement or warm clothing. Leave a break of one to two hours between treatments and after meals.

Do not use the Kneipp facilities if you have open wounds, acute infections, urinary tract infections or during menstruation.

When water treading, lift your legs alternately using the traditional "stork step", keeping your toes pointed downward. The water level should reach just below the knees. Continue until you clearly feel the cold. Afterwards, remove the water from your feet, keep moving and warm them up.

For the arm bath, immerse each arm in cold water up to the middle of the upper arm. As soon as you feel cold, remove your arms, shake off the water and warm them again through movement or warm clothing.

Getting There

By Car
A paid parking area is available at the Pulvererhof (daily rate: €5.00). Payment can be made by cash or card. Please note that the parking machine does not give change. From the car park, it is about a 5-minute walk to the start of the Barefoot Trail.

By Public Transport
Bus line 319 (Sterzing – Ratschings) runs to the "Larch” bus stop. From there, the starting point of the Barefoot Trail can be reached in around 25 minutes on foot along the level Ratschings Valley Trail, also known as the Pfeifer-Huisile Trail.
