Starting from the Parish Church of St. Ursula in Mittertal, continue past the Naturhotel Rainer and follow the gravel track on the left, which joins trail no. 15B on a paved road. Turn left towards Wiesl. Upon reaching the signpost for trail no. 15, turn left again towards Gospeneid and follow the route as far as Rust. Proceed in the direction of Sterzing and, upon reaching the main road, turn left. After crossing the bridge, turn left again onto trail no. 9, which runs along the stream to Gasteig. The route then follows the main road to the entrance of the Jaufental valley before returning to the starting point at the Parish Church in Mittertal along trail no. 12.
