From Maiern through the Burkhardklamm gorge

Starting from the Mining Museum in Ridnaun, the route initially follows trail no. 9 through woodland and then crosses a bridge leading to the entrance of the Burkhardklamm gorge. Follow trail no. 8 through the gorge until you reach the dam at the Aglsböden plateau. Continue along the same trail to the Aglsbodenalm mountain hut.

Description to arrive at destination

From Sterzing, continue towards the Ridnauntal valley as far as Maiern, at the very end of the valley. The Mining Museum, which marks the starting point of the hike, is located here.

Parking

Parking is available at the Mining Museum in Maiern, at the end of the Ridnauntal valley, which marks the starting point of the hike.

Public transport

The starting point can be reached by bus line 312 (Sterzing/Vipiteno – Ridnaun/Val Ridanna). Get off at the final stop, “Bergbaumuseum/Museo delle Miniere”, located directly at the starting point of the hike.
