The starting point of this hike is the Parish Church of St. Ursula in the locality of Mittertal. The itinerary begins along trail no. 13 on a paved road and continues to just before Kaltenbrunn. Here, the path turns right and joins a gravel track. The route then briefly follows the Birgl circular trail, which features a relaxation area, before proceeding along trail no. 13B to the junction with trail no. 12A. A little further on, the path branches off to the right and leads to the Gurgl waterfall. Afterwards, continue along trail no. 12A, which leads to the Bergalm mountain hut in about 10 minutes.
Note: The route follows gravel tracks throughout and does not include any forest trails. It is therefore well suited to mountain bikes and pushchairs.
The opening hours of mountain and alpine huts can be found here.
