The hike begins at the Ridnaun clubhouse (Vereinshaus) and follows the “Obere Erzstrasse” trail towards the head of the valley as far as Maiern and the Mining Museum. Cross the large bridge and, overlooking St. Magdalena Chapel, continue out of the valley on the right-hand side. In the village of Ridnaun, cross another bridge and follow trail no. 7A to St. Magdalena Chapel and onwards to Gasse. At the Joggelerhof farm, turn right and once again follow the “Obere Erzstrasse” trail back to the starting point.
Description to arrive at destination
From Sterzing, follow the signs towards the Ridnauntal valley. Shortly before reaching the centre of Ridnaun, turn left towards the clubhouse (Vereinshaus).

Parking is available at the clubhouse in Ridnaun.
Public transport
The starting point can be reached by bus line 312 (Sterzing/Vipiteno – Ridnauntal/Val Ridanna). Get off at the “Ridnaun, Dorf/Ridanna, Paese” stop. Further information on timetables and connections is available at www.suedtirolmobil.info/en.
