This hike starts at the Bergl farms in Maiern in the Ridnauntal valley. Follow trail no. 29B along a gravel track before continuing through the forest on trail no. 29 to the Untere Gewingesalm mountain hut. From here, trail no. 29 ascends steadily to the Obere Gewingesalm mountain hut and continues to the summit of Zunderspitze.

Description to arrive at destination
From Sterzing, continue through the Ridnauntal valley to Maiern and follow the road as far as Hotel Schneeberg. Continue for approximately 800 metres to the Berglfarms, where parking is available on the right-hand side of the road.
Parking
Parking is available near the starting point on the right-hand side of the road.
Public transport
The starting point cannot be reached directly by public transport. It is possible to travel as far as the “Maiern” stop on bus line 312 (Sterzing/Vipiteno – Ridnaun/Val Ridanna) and continue on foot to the starting point (approx. 20 min., 50 metres of elevation gain).
