Take the Rosskopf cable car up to the mountain station, situated at approximately 1,800 metres above sea level. From there, first follow trail no. 24 and then trail no. 23, which crosses alpine meadows and pastures on mostly level or gently descending ground. At the junction, continue along trail no. 5A towards the Kuhalm mountain hut and then follow the final section of the route on trail no. 5 to the Freundalm mountain hut.
Note: the route follows gravel tracks throughout and does not include any forest trails. It is therefore well suited to mountain bikes.

The Rosskopf cable car is located north of Sterzing, on the road towards the Brennerpass.

Public transport
The “Sterzing, Busbahnhof/Vipiteno, Autostazione” bus stop is located around five minutes on foot from the Rosskopf cable car valley station.
