The hike starts at the “Obertelfes/Telves di Sopra” bus stop, located just a few minutes’ walk from the fire station. Trail no. 5 initially follows a paved road before continuing along a gravel track that ascends gradually to the Freundalm mountain hut.
Note: the route follows gravel tracks and short sections of paved road, entirely avoiding forest trails. It is therefore well suited to mountain bikes.

From Sterzing, follow the road to Telfes. Once you reach Obertelfes, the starting point of the hike is located at the fire station on the left-hand side of the road.
