Gilfenklamm Magic Light

Since 2021, the Gilfenklamm gorge has been reimagined each summer evening through atmospheric light installations. During the Gilfenklamm Magic Light event, gentle yet impressive illuminations transform the wild natural scenery into a quiet, almost mystical world of experience. The sound of the rushing water accompanies you through the darkness, while above you the starry sky opens up and the rock walls glow in changing colours.

You walk along the well-known bridges and pathways through the gorge for about an hour – yet at night everything feels different: calmer, more intense and more mysterious. The water continues to roar as it does during the day, but the light changes your perspective and reveals details that would otherwise remain hidden.

This turns the walk through the gorge into a truly special nature experience – not loudly staged, but harmoniously integrated into its surroundings, and therefore all the more touching.

After the walk, a shuttle bus conveniently brings you back from Jaufensteg to Stange. The first shuttle departs at 9:30 pm, the last at 11:15 pm. The shuttle service is included in the ticket price.

During the day, the Gilfenklamm gorge reveals its impressive beauty: it is one of the few gorges in the world formed entirely in white marble. Between bright rock faces, turquoise water and lush nature, secured walkways and stairways lead right through this extraordinary natural spectacle.
