Wipptal Cycling Day
It’s that time again: for the seventeenth time, cycling will take center stage for one day in the beautiful Wipptal Valley. In Sterzing/Vipiteno and the surrounding villages, numerous attractions and facilities are waiting to be discovered by you.
The Cycling Day is a wonderful opportunity to get on your bike with family, friends, and fellow cycling enthusiasts and explore the stunning landscape together.
Between the villages of Franzensfeste/Fortezza, Mittewald, Freienfeld/Campo di Trens, Wiesen/Prati, Sterzing/Vipiteno, Mareit/Mareta, Gossensass/Colle Isarco, and Brenner/Brennero, many participating associations, businesses, and museums will provide fun, entertainment, activities, and refreshments.
There will also be a sporting challenge: the entire route is over 90 kilometers long. We are delighted to welcome your participation and warmly invite you to share this unique experience with us.
This Cycling Day is not a race, but rather a recreational cycling tour through and between the various villages of the Wipptal Valley.
Participation in the event is free of charge and open to everyone.
A circular route with several checkpoints will be marked between the villages of Sterzing/Vipiteno – Wiesen/Prati – Freienfeld/Campo di Trens – Mittewald – Franzensfeste/Fortezza – Mareit/Mareta – Gossensass/Colle Isarco – Brenner/Brennero.
Registration and start are possible from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Participants may start in:
- Sterzing/Vipiteno (town square)
- Wiesen/Prati (park)
- Freienfeld/Campo di Trens (sports area)
- Mittewald (playground/village center)
- Mareit/Mareta (festival grounds/village center)
- Gossensass/Colle Isarco (festival grounds/village center)
- Brenner/Brennero (sports field, next to the cycle path)
All cyclists will receive a participation card, which will be stamped at the checkpoints. The stamped card must be returned by 4:00 p.m. at the finish area in Sterzing/Vipiteno (town square).
Upon returning the participation card, each participant will receive a gadget (while supplies last) and one or more raffle tickets. Each ticket grants the holder the chance to participate in the final prize drawing, provided they are present at the event.
